ShockWave Therapy

Reduce Pain,

Promote Healing

Background pattern

What Is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves to target joint pain and inflammation at the source. It boosts blood flow, promotes healing, and breaks down scar tissue.

If you suffer from arthritis, this therapy can ease pain, improve mobility, and help you feel better fast—all without surgery or downtime.

For stress fractures, plantar fasciitis or chronic tendonitis, shockwave can promote a healing response in the injured tissue which may help cure your condition.

What Can I Expect?

During shockwave therapy, you can expect a quick, in-office procedure lasting about 15-20 minutes. This therapy generally involves performing this procedure weekly for 3-5 sessions. A handheld device will be applied to the site of pain, delivering sound waves. When the sound waves pass through the injured tissue you will feel some discomfort, which confirms the energy is being delivered to the source of your pain (there is no discomfort when the shockwave passes through normal, healthy tissue). The discomfort will stop as soon as the procedure is completed.

After the treatment, most people notice some temporary symptom improvement but you might experience slight soreness, similar to a workout, but this usually fades within a day or two. Many patients start to notice lasting pain relief and improved mobility within just a few sessions although maximal long term benefit will take several weeks.
